Ramadan 2010 Indeed this is our great pleasure to announce that tomorrow Wednesday August 11, 2010 Ramadan. We will have taraweeh prayers at both of our locations (207 4st NE and 8th and 8th SW Downtown).   "Observing al-sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious).”  Ramadan is a great time to multiply your reward and one very easy way is to feed a fasting person, the Prophet Peace Be Upon Him said "Whoever gives a fasting person (food) to break his or her fast, he (the one providing the food) will get the reward equivalent to the (fasting person’s) reward, without diminishing anything from the reward of the (fasting person)." The IISC has for the last few years provided daily iftars for singles, needy and students or anyone who would like to have iftar with us every night in the Edmonton Trail location.  If you would like to sponsor an iftar with us please donate to the  Iftar sponsorship, click the link and follow the instructions and instantly you will multiply the reward of your fasting. We will also be having a halaqa every Saturday 1.5hrs before iftaar this Ramadan with Sheikh Kamal El Mekki, look for Thursday's email for more details. ILM Tree Academy Islamic Information Society of Calgary presents "Ilm Tree Academy", a perfect summer Islamic institution for your children.  The goal of Ilm Tree Academy is to use part of the summer vacation in personal development and beneficial activities. These activities will aim at promoting a strong Islamic identity, enrichment of required Islamic knowledge and love for the Muslim community. These are very important goals for a child growing up in the west and Ilm Tree Academy has developed just the right curriculum for it. Allah’s Apostle, PBUH said: “Upon death, man’s deeds will (definitely) stop except for three deeds, namely: a continuous charitable fund, endowment or goodwill; knowledge left for people to benefit from; and pious righteous and God-fearing child who continuously pray Allah, the Almighty, for the soul of his parents. “ This Hadith is reported by Muslim. 8th & 8th Musallah(Downtown)  Allhumduillah it is great pleasure announcing new mussalla in downtown Calgary is open now.  The new 8th and 8tth Mussallah is available every day and for Jamaa prayers khutbah at 12:30pm.

Sisters Tajweed Halaqah InshAllah we are starting a new Sisters Tajweed Halaqah on Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm at the IISC. The first class will be May 4, 2010.

Tajweed Halaqah InshAllah our Tajweed Halaqah for brothers held on Wednesday and Sunday will resume in January 6, 2010. Classes will be Wednesday from 6pm-8pm and Sundays from 9am-11am.

Tuesday Arabic Halaqah Our Tuesday Arabic Halaqah has resumed. The topic is Fiqh of Salat. The halaqah runs between Maghrib and Isha.

IISC ASSIST The IISC is an organization committed to dawah. By the grace of Allah we try to do many activities for the community. There are many ways that you can contribute to these activities and inshAllah share in the reward. One way is to donate money. We know that everybody has a passion for different areas of dawah. Help the needy or support one of our dawah projects. As a result, we have setup a new website, IISC Assist,  so you can chose which project or cause to donate to.
